Quesnel RCMP investigating fatal SUV rollover

QUESNEL, B.C. — Police are investigating the death of a 61-year-old man who was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Quesnel.

They say an RCMP officer who was patrolling on Blackwater Road near Mitchell Road Friday (July 4) came across an SUV on its roof in the ditch.

Police say the 61-year-old man was extracted from the vehicle, adding paramedics were unable to resuscitate him.

“The Quesnel RCMP are investigating the cause of the collision,” Cpl. Rob Belanger, said in a statement.

RCMP say the road was closed for a short period of time but has since been re-opened.
