PRINCE GEORGE — A 38-year-old Prince George man is facing several charges following an incident Saturday night on the corner of Fourth Avenue and Quinn Street.

At 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, RCMP received a report of a man pointing a firearm at a taxi driver. Police officers quickly attended the scene and located Clayton Gus Joseph with what turned out to be an imitation firearm.

“Despite the presence of the firearm, Mr. Joseph was arrested by attending officers without further incident. Though the firearm was later determined to be an imitation firearm, RCMP are reminding the public that a police response to an imitation firearm will illicit the same response as a real firearm,” states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer, Prince George RCMP.

A search incidental to his arrest revealed a second, non-imitation firearm and some ammunition.
