Hockey players found not guilty

All five former members of Canada’s world junior hockey team have been found not guilty of sexual assaulting a woman at a London, Ontario hotel in 2018.
An Ontario judge has spent much of the day laying out her analysis of the case and her reasoning to find Callan Foote, Alex Formenton, Carter Hart, DIllon Dube and Michael McLeod not guilty of sexual assault.
Ontario Superior Court Justice Maria Carroccia also found McLeod not guilty on an additional charge of being a party to the offence of sexual assault.
The judge said while delivering her ruling the complainant had a — quote — “tendency to blame others” for inconsistencies in her story, including police officers and her lawyers in the civil lawsuit.
