Community comes together for six year old with cancer
PRINCE GEORGE – Bo Radford is a 6 year old boy who loves hockey, his friends and his family. At the end of June Bo was diagnosed with neuroblastoma a rare form of cancer found in children. The Prince George family packed up and made the move to Vancouver where Bo began chemotherapy treatments at the BC children’s hospital. The Burn Fund center in Vancouver hosted them for the first few weeks until they made the move to the Ronald McDonald house. Bo’s mother Kristi was a former employee of Prince George’s North 54 restaurant and many of her former coworkers are her closest friends and they have banded together to help a struggling family in their time of need. Event planner and friend Anthea Flannigan says they care about the family very much and want to do their part.
” All of us hospitality friends and ex-colleagues of Kristi decided to get together and throw a fundraiser at Mulino’s Kitchen and Restaurant. We will be throwing it this Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $40 and includes light bites, a drink and a 50/50 ticket with all the proceeds going to Bo. There’s also a Go Fund Me that can be found and a Facebook page called Go Bo Go which from there you can find the GoFundMe. You can also find more information on A Night for Bo, which is this Sunday at Mulino’s from 5 to 8 p.m.” said Flannigan.
