Numerous firefighters battle Saturday fire at Quesnel log yard

QUESNEL, B.C. — The City of Quesnel says a fire that sparked within city limits early Saturday (Aug. 24) morning is currently under control.
A number of firefighters from several local fire departments were called to respond to the fire which sparked at the BC Eco Chips’ yard on Pinecrest Road around 4:00 a.m.
No evacuations were ordered because of the fire, which was also attended to by the BC Wildfire Service. Smoke from the fire was also visible on a DriveBC camera located south of city limits on Highway 97.
