PRINCE GEORGE — The UNBC Timberwolves men’s soccer team was victorious over the TRU Wolfpack once again on Sunday.

At Masich Place Stadium Sunday afternoon, the Timberwolves completed the weekend sweep over the Wolfpack with a 2-1 win.

It was a scoreless first half, but it was a busy second frame for the TWolves. Isaac Tate scored first for UNBC, assisted by Wyatt Lyon and Jamie Wildash-Chan scored at 55:10 in the second to put the TWolves ahead. Logan Pierce finished the game with seven saves while his counterpart Luca Ortu made five for TRU. The lone Wolfpack goal came way of Lachlan Will in the 59th minute.

The TWolves have a 2-0-0 record so far, TRU is at 0-2-0.

The men will head to Langley to take on the Trinity Western Spartans on Friday.

On the women’s side, it was another loss for the TWolves against the TRU Wolfpack 1-0. However, this game did show signs of improvement for UNBC. TWolves keeper Johanna Rathke made 10 saves, limiting the Wolfpack to just one goal. UNBC kept the offensive pressure up, but just couldn’t capitalize on any opportunities.

The TWolves are at 0-2-0 so far this season, the TRU Wolfpack are at 2-0-0.

Up next for the women, is a road trip to Abbotsford to take on Fraser Valley Cascades on Thursday, August 28 at 5:30 pm.
