PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Labour Day Classic, which first took place in 1974, has become one of the city’s most beloved athletic traditions.
Originally called the Prince George to Boston Marathon, the race gained significant historical significance when Terry Fox participated in it.
This year, on Sunday, the 50th edition will officially feature distances, including a 5 km, 10 km, half-marathon, and full marathon, all starting and finishing at the Ice Oval in Exhibition Park. Runners will tackle the challenge of Cranbrook Hill while honouring the legacy of Dick Voneugen, one of the event’s founding members. The start finish line will be located near the outdoor ice oval.
