Pierce makes nine saves as TWolves earn a point in Victoria

VICTORIA — Logan Pierce made nine saves to help the UNBC Timberwolves to a 1-1 draw against the Victoria Vikes in Canada West Soccer action Saturday (Sept. 6) night.

Pierce – who is from Campbell River – stopped a first-half penalty kick from Connor Legge in the 38th minute that kept the score at nil-nil. It was one of seven first half saves he made to keep the game scoreless through the first 45 minutes.

Rookie striker Josh Jordan scored into an empty net in the 50th minute to give the TWolves the lead, but Victoria would not be denied. They equalized through Matthew Pearse deep into second half stoppage time to remain undefeated through six games.

UNBC is now 3-2-1 and while Victoria is 4-0-2 in Canada West.
