Prince George marks 20 Years of unity at World Religions Conference

Sep 8, 2025 | 3:03 PM

PRINCE GEORGE – For the past twenty years, the World Religions Conference has been a cornerstone of the Prince George community. This multi-faith event unites individuals from some of the world’s major religions. Scheduled for Monday evening, the conference aims to enhance participants’ understanding of global conflicts from a religious perspective.

Nearly 200 people are expected to gather at St. Michael’s Anglican Church for this annual event. The conference will examine how various faiths collaborate to foster peace in our world.

The organizing committee has invited speakers to share their insights on global events that impact peace.

Dr. Maire Hay, one of the speakers at the conference, emphasizes that attendees will have the chance to gain valuable insights directly from the presenters, rather than depending on potentially unreliable information available online.

“ Most of our communication is through body language. I would say maybe 90% and 10% through words. So when we meet people and we see their faces, their warmth, their smiles, and we hear their ideas and their beliefs and what’s in their heart, what they really believe, that brings us together in unity and hopefully in peace.”

Dr. Marie Hay

Presenter, Christian Perspective

This free conference is the most significant and longest-running multi-faith event in Canada.
