Bittersweet start for Tour de North as riders pedal on in memory of lost colleague

PRINCE GEORGE – After months of training and fundraising efforts, the Cops for Cancer Tour de North has officially hit the road, making its way from Prince George to Prince Rupert through Northern BC.

A dedicated team of twelve is on a mission to transform the future of childhood cancer. This morning marked the kickoff of Tour de North at Heritage Elementary School.

Over the next seven days, law enforcement and emergency services personnel will join forces in this cycling event.

However, this year carries a heavy heart; during a training session, one of the riders tragically lost their life, making the event feel bittersweet for those who continue to ride in their honour.
