Cougars fall to Blazers 3-2 in overtime in final preseason game

QUESNEL, B.C. — The Prince George Cougars dropped their final game of the WHL preseason Saturday (Sept. 13) losing to the Kamloops Blazers 3-2 in overtime at the West Fraser Centre in Quesnel.

The Cougars had two separate leads throughout the game thanks to goals from Dmitri Yakutsenak and Lee Shurgot, but they couldn’t hang on in regulation.

Prince George wrapped up their exhibition schedule with a 0-3-1-0 record.

The Cats open their season at home Friday (Sept. 19) when they welcome the Portland Winterhawks to CN Centre. Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m.
