Council kicks around the idea of World Cup Watch Parties

PRINCE GEORGE – City staff are preparing a report for council on whether it makes sense for the city to host FIFA World Cup watch parties. Councillors Cori Ramsay and Ron Polillo suggested holding the events at Canada Games Plaza. At last night’s meeting, some councillors raised concerns about whether this should be the city’s responsibility at all. Mayor Simon Yu also questioned whether approving this would set a precedent for other events, like the 2026 Winter Olympics.
