Prince George Library to be closed for repairs

PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Public Library will be seeing closures next week due to roof repairs at the Bob Harkins Branch downtown.

“This is the replacement of our skylight at the downtown branch that’s been leaking for a number of years now, so we’re getting that replaced over the summer. We really appreciate the City’s support in addressing that issue so that we don’t have rain leaking on our collection,” said the Prince George Public Library’s Director Paul Burry.

The closures will take place on Sept.22 and 23 and last all day, including book drop closures.

“The steel structural supports for the new roof will be arriving and be raised to the roof, so we’ll be closed for those two days so that can happen. The project is proceeding on schedule, so we’re excited about that,” Burry said.
