RCMP hope to identify possible sexual assault victim in Fort St James

FORT ST JAMES — Mounties in Fort St James are hoping the victim of a possible sexual assault comes forward.

North District RCMP say the possible assault occurred on Saturday, August 30, 2025 shortly after 9 p.m. at a concert at Sonny Hamper Park on Stuart Drive.

“It was reported that the suspect allegedly groped a woman while she was on the dance floor,” says Cpl Madonna Saunderson.

Police attended the concert but say the suspect was gone by the time officers arrived. The identity of the suspect was provided to police, however the woman remains unidentified.

“Police are hoping that the victim will call as police take sexual assault reports very seriously,” notes Saunderson.
