Quesnel RCMP officer injured during erratic arrest of suspected impaired driver
QUESNEL, B.C. — A man is facing numerous charges after a Quesnel RCMP officer was injured and two police cruisers were damaged during an arrest.
Quesnel RCMP say officers attended a rural property on Highway 97 North at around 1:45 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 25) in response to a suspected impaired driver who reportedly threatened another man.
Once officers attempted to carry out a traffic stop, RCMP say the man rammed several police cruisers before abandoning his own vehicle on a nearby rural property.
In a news release issued Friday, Quesnel RCMP say the man was eventually arrested with help from Prince George RCMP, including police dog services, the emergency response team and the RCMP air unit.
