Spruce Kings blow out Eagles in home opener
PRINCE GEORGE — A bit of home cooking got the Prince George Spruce Kings their first win of the 2025-26 British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) season.
During their home opener Friday (Sept. 26) night, the Spruce Kings blew out the Surrey Eagles 7-2.
The Spruce Kings started with a pair of special teams goals, one on the power play and one shorthanded, before the Eagles got on the board. From there, the Spruce Kings scored four unanswered goals en route to the win.
Prince George is 1-1-0-0 to start the BCHL season. Their four-game homestand continues Saturday (Sept. 27) when they welcome the Okotoks Oilers of Alberta to Kopar Memorial Arena. Puck drop is at 6:00 p.m.
