Prince George based author Cynthia Lebrun has had her book ‘Black Sunflowers’ nominated for a 2025 BC and Yukon Book Prize in the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize category. This immersive novel tells the story of one family’s survival during the Holodomor, Stalin’s terror famine in Soviet Ukraine in the 1930s. You can find more information about the book here.
