PRINCE GEORGE — On Friday morning there was a lot of buzz about what appeared to be an accident in the Nechako River near the boat launch off of River Road.
Prince George RCMP said it was informed of an unoccupied stolen vehicle that was in the river, and police ran a recovery mission to get the car out.
At the moment, police say there are no additional details as to how the car ended up in the river, who it was stolen by, or why it was in the river.
At the same time, the Prince George Fire Department was in the area, but the City of Prince George says this was a training exercise. No injuries were reported.
