Williams Lake emergency room to close for 12 hours Saturday

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — The emergency department at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake will be closed for most of the day Saturday (Oct. 4).

In a statement issued just after 8:20 a.m., Interior Health announced a nearly 12 hour closure of the emergency room in Williams Lake, as they note the facility is not expected to reopen until 8:00 p.m. this evening.

People in the Williams Lake area in need of emergency care Saturday are being told to head to 100 Mile District General Hospital, GR Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel, or Bella Coola General Hospital.

“All other inpatient services will continue at Cariboo Memorial Hospital,” Interior Health said.
