UNBC women wrap up 2025 Canada West soccer season with defeat in Kelowna
KELOWNA — Johanna Rathke added 14 saves to her Canada West leading tally as the UNBC Timberwolves women’s soccer team fell 3-0 in their season finale Sunday (Oct. 12) afternoon in Kelowna.
The 0-13-1 TWolves were beaten by the UBCO Heat, who improved to 5-5-2. UNBC has wrapped up its season while the Heat have two games left to play in Kamloops against the TRU WolfPack next weekend.
Maria Georgacacos and Sydney Kolodziej had the Heat up 2-0 inside the first eight minutes as the home team took the 2-0 lead into half time. Abigail Taneda then added the insurance marker in the 67th minute.
Talia Gagnon had a quiet night as she had to make just three saves over the course of 90 minutes.
