Burns Lake RCMP unveil sketch of suspect who reportedly assaulted a teenage girl

BURNS LAKE, B.C. — Burns Lake RCMP are asking the public if they recognize the sketch of a suspect who reportedly assaulted a teenage girl.

On July 11, 2025, the 14-year-old girl told RCMP that an unknown man had grabbed her near her neck at Lakeview Mall and attempted to grab her waist. The man then reportedly walked away without any further contact.

In a news release issued Wednesday (Oct. 15), RCMP unveiled a sketch of the suspect in hopes of a resident identifying them.

The suspect is described as a man between the ages of 50 and 55. He’s described as having grey hair and a brown beard, wearing dark clothes and smelling of alcohol.

Anyone who recognized the sketch or has further information about the assault is asked to contact Burns Lake RCMP at 250-692-7171.
