Chiefs score six unanswered goals to beat Spruce Kings
CHILLIWACK — Mathis Laplante and Dracen Campbell scored for the Prince George Spruce Kings in a 6-2 defeat to the Chilliwack Chiefs Friday (Oct. 24) night at the Chilliwack Coliseum.
Laplante got the Spruce Kings on the board at 11:07 of the opening frame with his fourth goal of the BCHL season.
The Chiefs roarer back with the next six goals – four in the second and two in the third period to lead 6-1 with about 11 minutes left to play. Campbell then struck on the powerplay as with his first BCHL goal.
Colin Reay stopped 27 of 33 shots in a losing effort for the Kings, who dropped to 5-5, while David Di Girolamo turned aside 15 of 17 shots he faced. The Chiefs boast a 2-8 record through 10 games this season.
