UNBC defender Jamie Wildash-Chan named to Canada West all-rookie team

PRINCE GEORGE — Jamie Wildash-Chan, a first-year defender for the UNBC Timberwolves, has been named to the 2025 Canada West men’s soccer All-Rookie team.

A native of Wellington, New Zealand, Wildash-Chan scored five goals and added one assist in 15 games with the Timberwolves this season. His six points tied him with Isaac Tate (four goals and two assists) for the team lead.

Two of Wildash-Chan’s goals – back on opening weekend against the TRU WolfPack – stood as game winners as the 4-9-2 TWolves just missed out on Canada West playoffs as they finished fifth in the Pacific Division.

Wildash-Chan, who committed to playing soccer for UNBC in April, was on the pitch for 1,321 minutes – one minute shy of Mark Talisuna for the overall team lead.

“Jamie is fully deserving of this recognition,” UNBC men’s soccer head coach Steve Simonson said. “He’s clearly one of the top rookies in the league and we are proud of how he represents UNBC and the Northern B.C. communities.”

Wildash-Chan is the third UNBC men’s soccer player to be named to the Canada West All-Rookie team, joining Hagon Kim in 2022 and Reid Adams in 2019.
