Annual Mackenzie auction highlighting local businesses and artisans
MACKENZIE – The Mackenzie Chamber of Commerce is preparing for its 23rd annual auction. Taking place on November 15 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 273, the auction will begin at 6:00 p.m. and showcase a wide variety of Northern B.C. communities and their artisans.
“We’ve got ski lift tickets, golf passes, wine package from Northern Lights Winery, and we’ve got art. We’ve got some ski lift tickets for Smithers, we’ve got some for Powder King, so it’ll be all over the place. And then we’ve got Vancouver Canucks tickets. So it showcases B.C., but it really showcases our Northern B.C. area and the beautiful area that we live in,” said the Chamber’s Executive Director Tracy Medley.
Other items, including hand crafted furniture, Prince George Spruce Kings tickets, fishing packes, and more, will also be available. This is on top of local food trucks and artisans also being there, further highlighting Northern B.C communities and what they have to offer.
“One of the donations is a beautiful wood wine rack made from a local builder, and it’s all wood made from repurposed bridge wood, so bridges that have been taken out, forestry road bridges, and he makes different furniture from this wood. Every piece has got a little QR code, so you can see the details of what bridge it was from or where it was from,” Medley said.
