RCMP investigate shooting on Upland Street

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP is investigating a shooting that occurred near the Alpine Village apartments on the 2100-block of Upland Street.

Police say they were contacted shortly after 1 p.m. Friday, October 31, for a report of a man in that area who was bleeding heavily. When investigators located the victim, they found he was suffering from a gun shot wound to his leg.

“Police officers are currently seeking to identify where the shooting occurred and who the suspects may be. If anyone in that neighbourhood heard or saw anything suspicious or has any information relating to this investigation, we ask you call the non-emergency line at 250-561-3300,” states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The victim has been transported to the hospital by BC Emergency Health Services.

This investigation remains ongoing. Residents can expect police officers to be in the area for some time as they continue to gather information.
