Baukin leads UNBC men to first-ever home court win over Alberta
PRINCE GEORGE — Evgeny Baukin poured in a game-high 30 points Friday (Oct. 31) night to lead the UNBC Timberwolves to a 78-77 win over the Alberta Golden Bears.
Baukin also had 10 rebounds to lead the TWolves to first win of the 2025-26 Canada West basketball season. They’re 1-1 after last Sunday’s defeat to the UBCO Heat.
Justin Sunga (12) and Miller Davies (10) also finished with double-digit point totals for the hosts. Isaac Simon had 20 in response for the 2-1 Bears, who suffered their first defeat of the season.
Alberta led 44-31 at the half, but they were outscored by the TWolves in the third and fourth quarters. UNBC poured in 27 of its 78 points in the final 10 minutes.
