PRINCE GEORGE — A 23 point effort from Evgeny Baukin was not quite enough as the UNBC Timberwolves dropped a 74-67 overtime decision to the nationally ranked Alberta Golden Bears Saturday (Nov. 1) night in Prince George.

Baukin’s seven rebounds and five assists were also team highs as the TWolves dropped to 1-2 on the season. UNBC led 45-34 at the half, but Todd Jordan’s team managed just 18 points across the second half as they allowed Alberta back into the game.

The TWolves had a chance to make it two wins in two nights as Milan Pasquale tied the game with 2.3 seconds left to play. He missed the extra point free throw that would have put UNBC up by one.

Overtime was needed after Alberta’s Isaac Simon’s last ditch three point attempt came up short as time expired. The visitors did not let up as they outscored UNBC 11-4 in overtime to come away with the win.
