PRINCE GEORGE — A big honour for UNBC Timberwolves soccer player Jamie Wildash-Chan.

Wildash-Chan, a first-year defender with the Timberwolves, has been named to the 2025 U SPORTS Men’s Soccer All-Rookie team – a first for UNBC’s soccer program.

Wildash-Chan was recognized in Toronto Wednesday at the U SPORTS Men’s Soccer awards banquet.

In 15 games during his rookie campaign, Wildash-Chan scored five goals and added an assist, tying for the team lead in points alongside Isaac Tate and Wyatt Lyon.

“Jamie is well deserving of this recognition,” shared UNBC Men’s Soccer head coach Steve Simonson. “He has proven to be a top player this past season, but less visible from the outside is his character and quality as a person. Jamie epitomizes what it means to be a top university athlete and we are so proud of his accomplishments.”

Since joining U SPORTS the following student-athletes at UNBC have been recognized with awards:

Maria Mongomo (WBB) – 2016 U SPORTS Women’s Basketball All-Rookie Team.

Francesco Bartolillo (MSOC) – U SPORTS 2018 National Student-Athlete Community Service Award

Michael Henman (MSOC) – 2022 U SPORTS Men’s Soccer First-Team All-Canadian.

Steve Simonson (MSOC) – 2022 U SPORTS Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year

Jamie Wildash-Chan (MSOC) – 2025 U SPORTS All-Rookie Team
