Wintry conditions in the forecast for Prince George

Nov 12, 2025 | 1:50 PM

PRINCE GEORGE — Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Pine Pass with about 10 centimetres expected to fall Wednesday night before easing Thursday morning.

In Prince George, rain mixed with snow is in the forecast for Wednesday night which will be followed by rain Thursday morning. The rain will be followed up with snow by mid-afternoon.

“So, by the afternoon the temperatures are expected to fall below freezing for Prince George and hence more snow is in the forecast for Prince George,” says Meteorologist Derek Lee. “In total, two to four centimetres of snow is expected on Thursday.”

Lee says the transition from fall to winter is in full swing now.

“Yeah, I think we’re definitely getting into that transition zone of temperatures cooling even more in the last few weeks. I would say in the forecast right now we’re seeing those cold temperatures lingering around the Prince George area so it’s likely we’ll see another round of snow for at least Friday into the weekend as well.”

With that in mind, Lee says motorists need to be aware that the mix of snow and rain will lead to slushy driving conditions meaning it will be slippery in general for travel.
