PRINCE GEORGE – Councillor Brian Skakun has been named this year’s recipient of the Bob Scott Award – Making a Difference for his decades of compassionate leadership and advocacy for people facing addiction, poverty, and social marginalization.

A lifelong Prince George resident, he has transformed personal hardship into a commitment to uplifting workers, strengthening public safety, and offering hope to those who are often overlooked.

According to the D.A.R.T., his service on the City Council, the Regional District Board, and the D.A.R.T. Board reflects his dedication to collaboration, dignity, and meaningful change, embodying the true spirit of the award.
