Prince George farmers gather tonight to highlight local efforts in the global hunger fight
PRINCE GEORGE – The farming community in Prince George and surrounding areas will gather this evening for a fall event aimed at highlighting local efforts to fight global hunger. Local producers will showcase how their work with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank is supporting community-driven “growing projects” that fund agricultural initiatives around the world.
The event will include live music and a screening of A Legacy Taking Root, a documentary featuring Gladys, a Ugandan farmer whose life has been transformed through sustainable agriculture. BC regional representative Jet Takaoka will also speak about how Prince George residents are contributing to long-term hunger relief.
