Spruce Kings win third in a row

NANAIMO — The Prince George Spruce Kings defeated the Nanaimo Clippers 5-1 Wednesday night in Nanaimo.

The Spruce Kings led the game 2-1 after two periods and exploded for three goals in the third to seal the victory before 945 fans at Frank Crane Arena.

Nanaimo scored first but Prince George scored the next five goals. The goal scorers were Jackson Froysland, Michael Denny, Ozbej Rep, Carter Hesselgrave, and Mason Loewen.

Both teams had 30 shots with Ryder Green getting the victory in net.

The Spruce Kings have won the first three games of a five game road trip with the two remaining games Friday and Saturday nights in Duncan when they face Cowichan.
