PRINCE GEORGE – An exciting week is unfolding for high school volleyball in Prince George. For the first time ever, four local teams are participating in the same provincial championship, marking a historic moment that has never been seen in any BC School Sports event.

The double-A boys’ volleyball provincials kicked off this week at College Heights Secondary and the College of New Caledonia, with 16 teams from across the province competing for the title.

Among the participating teams are the hosts College Heights, Duchess Park, Cedars Christian, and D.P. Todd, representing a level of provincial involvement never before seen in BC School Sports history.

Guillett emphasizes that the community has played a crucial role in elevating the local teams above their provincial rivals.

“ It is about community. It’s a community in your schools. It’s community in a community in Prince George. The volleyball club is a huge part of this community, and it has grown over the last decade.”

Jay Guillet

Coach, College Heights Cougars

Saturday’s championship match is scheduled at the College of New Caledonia
