Prince George shines bright, 30 years of Civic Light Up Magic

PRINCE GEORGE –

The holiday season officially kicks off in Prince George this evening with a dazzling tradition celebrating 30 years of festive cheer. The City’s Annual Civic Light Up promises a magical evening filled with lights, music, and family fun.

The 30th Annual Civic Light Up takes place at Canada Games Plaza from 4 to 8 p.m. tonight.

Festivities include the central plaza being illuminated at 6 p.m., visits with Santa, horse-drawn carriage rides, free ice skating with equipment rentals, face painting, and storytime at the library at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.

But the fun doesn’t stop there; there will also be street hockey with the Cariboo Cougars and Northern Capitals, live performances from local musicians and choirs, and plenty of food vendors offering free hot chocolate and holiday treats.
