UNBC basketball teams lose first of two weekend games to Victoria
PRINCE GEORGE — It was another tough outing for the UNBC Timberwolves basketball teams as they hosted the University of Victoria Vikes at the Northern Sport Centre.
The UNBC men were beaten 76-55 by the Vikes, who are defending national champions. UNBC drops to 2-8, while U Vic improves to a division best 8-2.
The TWolves were without their top scorer Evgeny Baukin for the third game in a row, though they got third year guard Chris Ainsley back from a long injury layoff. Ainsley scored 11 points in his return to the lineup and was named Player of the Game.
Tony Kibonge led the way for UNBC with 13 points, while Miller Davis grabbed a team-high six rebounds.
