Duchess Park boys win AA provincial title in Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE – The Duchess Park Condors have won a provincial AA boys volleyball title.

The Condors held on to beat the Richmond Christian Eagles in five sets during Saturday’s (Nov. 29) gold-medal match at the College of New Caledonia.

Duchess Park won the first two sets 25-23, 25-21 before Richmond Christian bounced back with 27-25, 26-24 set wins. It forced the decisive fifth set, which the Condors won 15-12.

The Condors previously won this AA tournament in 2021 and 1999. It’s the first medal at this tournament since they won bronze in 2022.

Three other Prince George teams were part of the 16-team field as College Heights finished eight, D.P. Todd was ninth, and Cedars Christian was 13th.

Elsewhere, Cedars Christian finished fifth in the 1A girls tournament in Castlegar and Nelson, D.P. Todd finished 13th in the 2A girls tournament in Kelowna, while College Heights finished eighth in the 3A girls tournament in Vernon.

Prince George Secondary also finished in 15th place in the 3A boys tournament in Langley.
