Timberwolves swept by Victoria as first half of Canada West season near conclusion
PRINCE GEORGE — Another defeat for the UNBC basketball teams as they couldn’t keep up pace with the powerhouse Victoria Vikes in Canada West action Saturday (Nov. 29) at the Northern Sports Centre.
The UNBC men wrapped up their slate of home games in the first half of the Canada West season with a 98-71 loss to the Vikes, who are defending national champions.
Danilo Gonzalez led the way for UNBC with a career-best 16 points, while Chris Ainsley and Justin Sunga added 10 points each. Isiah Bias led all players with six rebounds.
While UNBC trailed 56-37 at the half, the Vikes gradually pulled ahead in each of the final two quarters to improve to a Canada West-best 9-2 record.
