Still need to get rid of your Christmas tree? Volunteer service has you covered
PRINCE GEORGE – If you’re looking to get rid of your Christmas Tree, Job’s Daughters is once again stepping up to mulch your tree for free.
“This year we’re partnering with the College of New Caledonia, they’ve been very receptive to our community project, so we will be in the parking lot in front of the John A. Brink Trades and Technology Centre at 18th and Central,” said Dianne Graham, an adult mentor with Job’s Daughters.
This annual service is normally at the CN Centre, but because of the change in location Graham is hoping to let people know that if they’re counting on their tree being mulched, they can still do so, but it will be at CNC instead. You can visit the parking lot on January 2 and 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. where Job’s Daughters will be ready to take your tree for free, although any donations are greatly appreciated.
“It’s part of our learning, for giving the members of our organization an opportunity to do community service. That’s a really important part of our learning so that the girls know that there’s opportunities out there if they volunteer in the community,” Graham said.
