Section of Carney to be closed Wednesday and Thursday

PRINCE GEORGE — The City of Prince George will close Carney Street between 8th Avenue and 10th Avenue from 7a.m. Wednesday until 7 a.m. Thursday for a water service replacement.

City crews will place a temporary asphalt patch Wednesday night to ensure the road remains drivable. Sidewalk access will not be available during the closure.

The City says nearby properties may experience temporary changes in water pressure or sediment noting the water is safe to drink. The City advises residents run their taps until the water clears if discolored.

The work involves replacing a water service installed in the 1950s. The city says a detour will be in place along Burden Street and Douglas Street.
