Timberwolves basketball teams lose in Victoria

VICTORIA — The UNBC Timberwolves men’s and women’s basketball teams kicked off weekend play in Victoria Thursday night.

The men’s team fell 86-79 to the division leading UVic Vikes despite a personal-best 25 points from Isaiah Bias to go along with 5 assists.

With the loss, the Timberwolves fall to a record of 2-13 while UVic improved to 14-2.

The UNBC Timberwolves women’s squad was also on the hard court Thursday night, losing 84-34 to UVic. Guard Hazel Phillips finished with a team-high 16 points.

The loss dropped the Timberwolves to a record of 1-14 while the Vikes improved to 8-8.
