PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars are rolling again as they knocked off the Vancouver Giants 7-2 Friday (Jan. 23) for their fourth straight win.

Kooper Gizowski scored twice, while Brock Souch, Carson Carels, Jett Lajoie, Dmitri Yakutsenak, and Corbin Vaughan all found the back of the net at CN Centre.

While the Giants struck first through Tobias Tomik, it was the Cougars who scored the next three on the night. Carels and Souch scored 17 seconds apart to make it a 2-1 game after the first period before Gizowski extended the lead early in the second.

Vancouver pulled one back through Colton Gerrior at 1:37 of the middle period, after which it was all Cougars. Second period goals from Lajoie, Gizowski, and Yakutsenak made it 6-2 before Vaughan scored the only goal of the third period.

Cougars captain Bauer Dumanski finished with a pair of assists, while Vaughan and Yakutsenak had assists to go with their goals.

Josh Ravensbergen made 24 saves on 26 shots to pick up his third win in a row. Burke Hood of the Giants picked up the loss with six goals allowed on 29 shots in 40 minutes of work. Kelton Pyne allowed a goal on 11 shots in 20 minutes of relief work Friday.
