Mayoral candidate steps forward
PRINCE GEORGE — Roy Stewart is taking another run at the mayor’s chair.
The lawyer and longtime volunteer says he’s running for mayor because he believes experience, collaboration and steady leadership matter – especially right now.
Stewart – who ran for mayor in 2022 and finished in third place – served as legal counsel to the city and other northern communities for over two decades.
Stewart says his focus is on practical leadership, fiscal responsibility and respectful collaboration and points out he’s been “deeply involved in community life beyond City Hall,” including time spent as a trustee on the school board, on health committees and supporting the arts.
