BC Schizophrenia Society Prince George branch announces name change

PRINCE GEORGE — The BC Schizophrenia Society Prince George branch has announced that their organization will be operating under a new name.

Effective immediately, the organization will now be known as Oasis Mental Health Services Support Society. In a press release, Oasis Mental Health Services Support Society says that the new name “embodies our mission and values, signaling our commitment to inclusiveness, innovation, and positive social impact and for over three decades, we have provided meaningful support and resources, and, while our name is changing, our devotion to our community remains steadfast.”

The release goes on to state that their “programs, services, and leadership team will continue as before” and that the “new identity marks an exciting chapter in our journey, building on our legacy of collaboration and achievement.”

Oasis Mental Health Services Support Society will be hosting a grand re-opening on February 27, 2026 at 1139 6th Avenue, Prince George, BC from 11:30-1:30 and are inviting “the community to attend and help us re-dedicate our programs and services while celebrating our way forward.”
