Proceeds from Mr. PG sock sales in February to support Prince George Search and Rescue

PRINCE GEORGE — Tourism Prince George wants to help you to show off your Mr. PG pride, while also supporting Prince George Search and Rescue (PGSAR) Society.

Tourism PG says net proceeds from all Mr. PG Sock sales in February will be donated to the search and rescue group. That money will help PGSAR cover operations, training, and essential equipment.

“Prince George Search and Rescue play a vital role in our community and surrounding wilderness, and we are so grateful for their incredible heroics,” Scott McWalter, the Executive Director of Tourism Prince George said.

“By purchasing a pair of Mr. PG Socks, people can simultaneously show their local pride while directly supporting the outstanding volunteers who can be counted on when it matters most to people in need.”

In a statement, PGSAR – which comprises of over 70 active volunteers – says it fundraisers of this kind can help it grow and support rescue capabilities.

“Our funding comes from a variety of sources, and community donations like this are helpful in continuing to grow and maintain our capabilities as a search and rescue society,” Travis Aucoin, a PGSAR member, said.
