Man rescued after thrown off snowmobile near Barkerville

BARKERVILLE — A man was rescued after being thrown from his snowmobile near Groundhog Lake and Mt. Agnes near Barkerville on Sunday (Feb. 8).
Both Quesnel Search and Rescue and Prince George Search and Rescue responded after the man’s SOS device on his iPhone was activated shortly after 3 p.m. Prince George Search and Rescue’s extraction team helped with the response. The subject was located about 12 kilometres up a nearby trail at around 9 p.m.
The man was then taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.
