TUMBLER RIDGE – The community of Tumbler Ridge, BC, has a strong history of resilience in the face of challenges. Recently, a tragic incident shook many residents, but once again, they have come together, showcasing their remarkable strength and support for one another.
Vinny Corno, a longtime resident who has called Tumbler Ridge home for 40 years, believes the recent shooting has changed the community’s atmosphere. Tumbler Ridge has faced its share of challenges, including mine closures and wildfires. MLA Larry Neufeld highlights the incredible resilience found among the residents of Northern BC. The allure of living in such a beautiful northern setting has a unique appeal, drawing in a particular type of person.
Recognizing that many individuals may be feeling shocked, overwhelmed, or distressed, the Province and Northern Health want to assure residents that mental health support is available and accessible to those in need.
