Ness Lake Bible Camp gearing up for annual Family Day event

PRINCE GEORGE — Staff at the Ness Lake Bible Camp are preparing for another Family Day event this Monday (Feb. 16).

In a statement, the say this year’s event will feature a number of activities for the entire family – including bouldering wall, gym activities, and sledding. There will also be self-serve hot dogs, s’mores and bannock, and time slots for people who prefer a sit down soup and bun lunch.

“We love what this event gives to locals,” event organizer Dayna Penson said. “Seeing so many members of our community come and enjoy this event with their families and friends is a gift to us.”

Families are required to pre-register in advance because of limited space. Each person regardless of age requires a gate pass, which can be picked up from the Hartland Baptist Church at 6599 Driftwood Rd. up to 30 minutes ahead of the chosen time slot.

Organizers say they’ve implemented a $2/person cost to prevent “bulk” buying of tickets. They’re asking people buy tickets they will use so people who want to attend can do so.

“The costs of running camp keep rising and our prices for our programs match that. We want everyone in Prince George to be able to access the incredible site, loving staff/volunteers and a culture that gives memories that will last a lifetime,” Penson added.

“This event is our annual way of making sure that there is a way here without breaking the bank. We don’t come close to covering our costs for the day but we want to celebrate Family Day alongside our community by bringing families together and not running a fundraiser.”
