Two-vehicle crash closes Highway 97 north of Quesnel on Family Day
QUESNEL — There were minor injuries in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 97 north of Quesnel on Monday (Feb.16).
Quesnel RCMP received word of the crash just before 12:30 p.m. and learned that one of the vehicle occupants was trapped inside their vehicle.
To allow first responders to safely extract the trapped occupant and to provide a safe landing area for the arriving Air Ambulance, RCMP say Highway 97 was closed in both directions in the area north of Hush Lake.
Cpl. Brett Urano says the trapped occupant was successfully extricated from the vehicle by emergency personnel – adding that that individual, along with three additional occupants from the same vehicle, were taken to hospital by ground ambulance with what appeared to be minor injuries. The lone occupant of the second vehicle was uninjured.
