Weapons bust in Heritage neighbourhood
PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George RCMP arrested two people following a weapons bust on Wednesday (Feb.18).
While on routine patrol in Prince George on February 18, RCMP say members of the Problem Oriented Policing team came across a vehicle whose license plate was registered as “lost” in the police database. When police officers engaged their emergency lights to attempt a traffic-stop, the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed. Police officers did not pursue the vehicle but noted its last direction of travel.
Later that evening, the same police officers located the vehicle parked near the intersection of Killoren Crescent and Mullet Crescent. As the driver began to leave the area, police officers closed in on the vehicle and conducted a high-risk traffic stop. The driver and passenger, both known to police, were asked to step out of the vehicle and were placed under arrest.
