SASKATOON — Joshua Ravensbergen made 21 saves for his third shutout of the season as the Prince George Cougars blanked the Saskatoon Blades 4-0 Friday (Feb. 27) night in the Bridge City.

Kooper Gizowski scored twice while Aiden Foster and Carson Carels also found the back of the net at the SaskTel Centre. The result keeps Prince George (36-21-2-0) in third place in the Western Conference, though they just one point ahead of the Kelowna Rockets (33-18-5-2), who have six in a row.

Carels, who opened the scoring at 3:58 of the second, led the way offensively as he tallied two assists on the night to become the third fastest blueliner in franchise history to reach 100 career points.

Prince George capitalized on its first power play of the night at 13:25, after Foster wired home a shot past Blades netminder Evan Gardner, who made 26 saves on 30 shots in a losing effort.

Gizowski then struck at 18:22 of the second and 9:07 of the third to make it a 4-0 final as the Cougars were able to close things out. The result makes it 20 road wins for the Cougars, just the third time they’ve achieved that mark since 1996-97.

Prince George will wrap up its six game East Division road trip in Prince Albert tonight against the Eastern Conference-leading Raiders (44-8-5-1). Puck drop from the Art Hauser Centre is set for 5:00 p.m. B.C. time.
